"Der Kater-oder wie man das Spiel spielt"

A comedy based on Ludwig Tieck by Tankred Dorst

Anyone who has been involved in theater - usually for years - knows it: the joy of acting. This year's play will hopefully make this desire tangible for the audience - and reflect on it: What is play? What is play within play?

The story of Puss in Boots is told. About the talking tomcat Hinze, who has Gottlieb, his penniless master, give him a pair of boots, marches through the world with them and, with cunning and wit, makes Gottlieb king and himself chancellor.

With their comments on the play, the characters and the realization, players in the audience open up a meta-level on which theater and theatrical performance can be reflected upon. The author, the dramaturge and the stage manager are called upon to answer questions from the audience and to parry comments and opinions. Even the actors on stage are forced to step out of their characters and take a stand. It is an exciting experience for all of us and we hope that it will also be an entertaining and thought-provoking evening for you, our audience.
