In Reflections of Wonder, nature is the protagonist. Music, dance, and poetry merge into a vibrant collage of diverse impressions of nature and enter into a dialogue about the ambivalent relationship between humans and the natural world. The young collective of female artists, featuring the trio Nushka and dancer Leandra Ernst, invites the audience to marvel, shudder, and reflect on the untamed power and beauty of nature. Music spanning from the Romantic period to the present day is paired with texts by Swiss poet Julia Toggenburger, creating an artistic space for reflection to explore societal conflicts surrounding nature, climate, and habitat, while also allowing for a personal engagement with the natural world.
Works by Ethel Smyth, Margrit Schenker, Rachel Portman, Siegrid Ernst, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
