Switzerland not only has the densest public transport network in the world, but also one of the most popular. Around 29,000 kilometres of rail, bus, boat and mountain railway provide a dense network across the country. Convenient, punctual connections promise a stress-free onward journey - whether from the airport, the border station or with convenient direct connections from neighbouring countries.
You will always find a connection; even at 3,800 metres above sea level, public transport is perfectly coordinated. The Swiss Travel System offers travellers from abroad the opportunity to discover destinations, mountains, lakes and over 500 museums with a single ticket: the Swiss Travel Pass. This allows travellers to explore the whole of Switzerland for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 days.
Children from the age of 6 to 16 travel free of charge with the free Swiss Family Card when accompanied by at least one parent (with a valid STS ticket).
The Swiss Travel Pass and detailed advice can be obtained from the Tourist Information at Lucerne railway station. The Tourist Information team is there for you every day!
