In the 17th and 18th centuries, state envoys and merchants brought wild animals as gifts on their visits. Today, the deer park is still home to around two dozen red deer.
The Hirschpark Luzern is a tranquil place of recreation in the middle of the city and is open to the public. The park is looked after around the clock by a team of experts who are happy to pass on information to visitors. In the park, people find balance in their everyday lives, children experience biodiversity at first hand and can observe wild animals.
