It occupies the former Villa Florida, which was built in 1911 by the well-known hotel architect, Emil Vogt (1863–1936).

The Museum im Bellpark is family- and child-friendly. For instance, its annual Bellpark Night includes an extra child-oriented programme. Taking place on four Saturday mornings in the autumn are sessions where the focus is on playful discovery.
