Circular walk Weggis - Hertenstein

Starting at the Weggis boat station,  walk along the lake in the direction of Hertenstein, past the All Saints' Chapel in the Unterdorf and then turn right after the HYG restaurant and then immediately left again onto Friedheimweg. We follow this, past the Hotel Friedheim, to the crossroads at the Hügeri farm. Now we walk left along the asphalt road up to the Brünnihof. From this manor house you can enjoy a marvellous view. We cross the meadow and reach the Eggisbühl farm and the Hotel & Gastro Formation. The path continues past the barn and slowly climbs towards Herrenwald. As soon as we reach the barbecue area at the edge of the woods, we turn left into the woods and follow the path in a large bend to the right. The woodland path is almost flat above the lakeshore until the junction with the Helsana Trail. We follow the signpost, turn right uphill and leave the forest after a few metres. After a short ascent, we reach the Gerbiweid campsite, past the greenhouses and the football pitch. At Thermoplan AG, we take the first turning on the right and pass the Hügeri farm again. This time we take the field path straight ahead at the crossroads, walk through the residential neighbourhood and along Höchistrasse until we reach a small path on the right that leads along a stream to the lake. Here we turn left and walk along the shore back to the Weggis boat station.

The frescoes in the All Saints' Chapel in the Unterdorf are well worth a visit.
