The circular hike around the Göscheneralpsee reservoir is one of the most popular hikes in the Andermatt Holiday Region. A magnificent mountain backdrop with glaciers, prolific flora and lots of water.

The circular hike starts on the valley reservoir. After crossing the reservoir, hikers will climb up to the Dammareuss tributary. The trail continues through the Alpine landscape until the Chelenreuss tributary is reached; this is also crossed. The views of the glaciers are breathtaking. Towards the end, the paths starts to climb again and takes hikers back to the reservoir.

Climate audio trail: For years, ETH researchers have been doing research on the glacier foreland of the Damma Glacier. Hikers can now share in the results: The trail begins on the reservoir and leads across Alpine rose-covered slopes to the barren foreland of the Damma Glacier, onto a lateral moraine and through upland moors. A total of nine listening stations are dotted around the Göscheneralpsee. Here, hikers can learn interesting information about the climate via an audio guide. The audio guide contains exciting stories. For example, hikers learn that bacteria will even eat rocks until they crumble; their munching can even be heard in the children's audio guide.
