Lake Arni

In winter, there are two waymarked snowshoe hiking trails which lead you through the beautiful countryside on the snowy yet and sunny Arni plateau, high above the Reuss valley.

The trail around the lake is particularly suitable for beginners and leads across largely level terrain with gentle ups and downs. The additional loop (Alternative A) leads to the mountain chapel and via Torli to the Diessen fountain back to the upper terminus. The route is waymarked in blue.

More proficient snowshoe hikers use the right side of the lake trail and fork off at the end of the lake towards Mittel and Vorder Arni. From the upper terminus of the Vorder Arni aerial cableway, the trail leads to the Vorder Arni vantage point and via "Höll" back to the lake and the Intschi-Arni cableway terminus.
