SZKB Outdoorplausch 2023: Intermediate myths round hike from Holzegg

The Grossen Mythen offer more than just a summit hike: the circular hike around the Schwyz landmark promises fantastic views and wildlife observations. You start after the ascent with the Holzegg cable car from the "Holzegg" mountain station in the direction of "Zwüschet Mythen". The route from "Günterigs" towards "Hasli" offers an exceptional view of the mountains and lakes of Central Schwyz. The hike leads through the "Mythenbann", the oldest hunting ban area in Switzerland dating back to 1492, where, depending on the season, wild animals such as chamois, eagles and marmots can be seen.

Mountain restaurants along the trail

On the way between Holzegg and "Zwüschet Mythen" there are three mountain restaurants along the hiking trail: the Skihaus Holzegg, the Berggasthaus Holzegg and the Alpwirtschaft Zwüschet Mythen. But you can also take a rest at the end at Gipfelstubli Rotenflue and eat something fine!
