Steady climb through forest and open meadows to Morschach scenic plateau. The Rütli can be seen across the lake. Partly along former rack railway route to Axenstein-Känzeli with views to Mt Pilatus. Gentle descent through Ingenbohlerwald.

On a fairly steep ascent through the Riemenstaldental valley at 835 metres above sea level, you first have to earn the view. Once at the top, the view opens up over Lake Uri and the mountains as well as the Rütli on the other side of the lake. The trail soon leads gently downhill again over the heights of Morschach. Past the ‘Swiss Holiday Park’ holiday and leisure resort, you follow the former route of the old Brunnen-Morschach cogwheel railway to Axenstein-Känzeli with magnificent views across Lake Lucerne to Pilatus.

Now it's downhill through wooded areas and forest clearings until you can see the roofs of Brunnen. Before you get back on the train in Brunnen or board the boat, it's worth visiting the Swiss Abroad Square on the lake.
