Tour of Sarnen village

The tour starts at Sarnen railway station and heads west to the former Löwen pharmacy. On the right side of the street is the semi-detached house am Grund. We follow Grossgasse past the chapel to the village square.

At the square we cross the Sarneraa river and see the town hall on the left. A short detour leads us up to the Landenberg where we enjoy the wonderful views. We go back down the same way and follow Kirchstrasse parallel to the Sarneraa, past the Hexen Tower (a.k.a. Pulver Tower) to the parish church of St. Peter and Paul. We then head east down the road and, after crossing the Sarneraa, turn right and follow the Aa along to the harbour bar and landing stage of the Seestern motor vessel.

Now we walk away from the lake back to the village. Passing the cinema on the right, we turn left and follow the road. We pass the Kollegi Church and then turn left and follow Wilerstrasse. Before the Sarneraa we cross the road and walk leisurely along the river back towards the village square. Just before the town hall we turn right and follow Rathausgasse to Brünigstrasse. After the Obwaldnerhof, we follow Bahnhofstrass back to our starting point.
