On 6 April 1924, the Swiss Ornithological Institute was founded with the inauguration of an observation tower. A vision turned into a foundation that plays a key role in shaping ornithology and bird conservation in Switzerland: For example, the Swiss Ornithological Institute develops scientific principles on the feathered aerial acrobats in order to subsequently protect the welfare of birds and their habitats. During the anniversary year, employees of the ornithological station will be giving regular talks and providing insights into their work and the fascinating world of birds. An open day will also be held on 7 and 8 September 2024.
