Christmas Oratorio - Parts I-III and VI

A law of nature sees a polyphonic composition as the sum of its parts. The Christmas Oratorio is different, as Bach intended the parts to be a series of independent works, each aesthetically fulfilling in itself. Each part a path to meditation and reflection, the whole a work full of cheerful optimism and brilliant jubilation.
