Festive duo concert with two soloists from Estonia. Mezzo-soprano Jane Tiik and harpsichordist Marju Riisikamp will perform a baroque programme together: songs by the old master Lodovico Grossi da Viadana from the Mantua region, two arias by G.Fr. Handel and a cantata by Telemann. In between, works for solo harpsichord by the Neapolitan Ascanio Mayone, G.Fr. Handel and J. Kaspar Kerll from the Saxon Vogtland will be performed. Admission is free; collection at the exit.
Mezzo-soprano Jane Tiik continued her vocal studies in Tallinn, majoring in opera singing, in Moscow and later in Karlsruhe; after completing her Master's degree, she attended a further training course in vocal methodology at the Basel Music Academy. She performs both as a soloist and as a member of chamber music ensembles in Europe.
Marju Riisikamp has already performed several times in Weggis. After completing her piano studies and attending masterclasses for historical keyboard instruments, she is regarded as a specialist in early music. She has become internationally recognised through tours as well as her CD and radio recordings.
