We open the Advent season with a festive event with live music, the arrival of Santa Claus, Trychler and Geisslechlöpfer, figure skating shows and a competition with great prizes from our tourism partners.

Evening Advent concerts
November 24, 2024 to January 2, 2025
On selected days, various bands, singers, choirs and regional and national musicians perform on the winter show stage on Europaplatz. The cultural and sporting program with free admission also includes fairytale hours and theater performances. On the ice, there will be courses in figure skating and curling.

A treat for the eyes, ears and palate
It's back! The popular ice rink on Europlatz with views of the city, lake and mountains. From November 13, 2024 to January 2, 2025, you can once again skate for free at "Ice Magic Lucerne". The event is accompanied by the "Fyrobig Adväntskonzärt" with regional and national bands, musicians and choirs, with fairy tale hours and theater performances on the winter show stage. The cultural program is complemented by a sports program with courses in figure skating, curling and ice skating shows. The patronage partners Lucerne Tourism and Lucerne Hotels cordially invite the public and guests to the events with free admission. A magical winter chalet with winter specialties provides culinary delights.

Christmas tree on Europaplatz
A spruce fir, 15 meters high
Once again this winter, from the end of November 2024, the wonderfully illuminated large Christmas tree will shine and bathe Europaplatz in Christmas glow.
Soak up the pre-Christmas atmosphere with a warming drink or a winter delicacy and take a few laps on the "Ice Magic Lucerne" ice rink. Enjoy the sparkling of the wonderful Christmas tree and the sounds of the "Fyrobig Adväntskonzärt" on the Europaplatz in the middle of Lucerne.

In January, Lucerne becomes an illuminated meeting place. Façades are illuminated with light installations and squares are artistically staged. This brings warmth to the wintry city.
