Wild about game?

Between forest and plate

The woods are draped in a coat of many colours. Rich green turning into muted yellows, fiery reds and orange. The clear air means you’re never far from an impressive view into the distance. Autumn’s here! And that means it’s game time. Indulge in the exquisite game specialities the city of Lucerne has to offer.

Unterlachenhof

Autumn is the wildest season at the Wirtshaus zum Unterlachenhof. Not only is the restaurant in Neustadt well booked, the culinary scene is also wild. The lovingly prepared autumn dishes have been delighting guests for years, which is why it is worth booking a table early for a visit to the traditional restaurant.

Burgerstube at the Hotel Wilden Mann

The Wilden Mann was first mentioned as a guest house in 1517. The charm of this traditional establishment has been preserved until the present day. The autumn finds the Burgerstube chefs serving up traditional game dishes as well as new interpretations. They also cater for vegetarians with tantalisingly tasty side dishes of red cabbage, home-made spätzli and fresh mushrooms.

Gartenhaus 1313

The Gartenhaus 1313 is a place where you eat what’s put on the table: hearty fare with a wealth of attention to detail. During the game season you can look forward to the chef’s own creation – Gemspfeffer Jägerart (chamois hunter-style) served with mushrooms, croutons and silver onions. Most of the game is sourced from hunters in Canton Obwalden.

Wirtshaus Galliker

There could hardly be a more authentic place for a culinary flight of fancy. In the Galliker inn, time seems to have stood still - dark panelling and furniture, simple lamps and subdued lighting are contemporary witnesses to this time-honoured inn. Matched by fine game classics that make the gourmet heart beat faster.

Bellini Locanda Ticinese

Even if the name doesn't give it away: a visit to the Bellini Locanda Ticinese during the game season is an absolute insider tip. Because here, the staff go on the prowl themselves. Paired with local ingredients that are traditionally pickled or dried after the summer, an autumnal treat awaits you in the restaurant of the Hotel Intercontinental.

Restaurant Lapin

Autumn is the time to get a winter coat like the rabbit. The Lapin restaurant is just the place for it. In addition to the well-known classic - the original Lucerne Fritschipastete - fine game dishes are also prepared in autumn. If you are looking for a cosy ambience and regional cuisine at fair prices, the Lapin restaurant is the place to be.
