The Rigi circuit used to be a well-known road bike race, later forming part of a regional triathlon. Nowadays it is a more leisurely ride around the Rigi, but it is still a popular destination for all cycling enthusiasts. And rightly so, as the route offers everything the heart desires - scenic, sporting and culinary.

The "Queen of the Mountains", as the Rigi is sometimes respectfully called, is a hive of activity when the weather is favourable. On two wheels, this summit is reserved for bikers. For racing cyclists, on the other hand, the circuit around the Rigi enjoys an excellent reputation. This may also have something to do with the fact that this route used to be a popular cycling race. If you want to circle the Rigi on narrow tyres, you have to share the road with all kinds of motorsport aficionados. If you don't let this put you off, you will be rewarded with a scenic ride along Lakes Lauerz, Zug and Lucerne. The Riviera climate, which also allows subtropical plants to thrive on the south side of the Rigi, promises pleasant temperatures even out of season.
