Stage three of the Gotthard Crystal Trek begins with an easy descent from the Vermigelhütte before the ascent to the Lolenpass. With its 47 picturesque hairpin bends and an even gradient, the ascent is pleasant and the path is excellently maintained. Despite its beauty, the pass is an insider tip, as most people choose the Maighel Pass. The path leads along streams and offers views of two remote mountain lakes. As you descend into the canton of Graubünden, the Maighelshütte comes into view - the ideal place for a well-earned lunch break. The route continues to the summit of Piz Cavradi (T3+) before descending to the Lai da Curnera side, which is provisionally marked (T3-T4). The long descent leads to Tschamut. From there, the route continues past the golf course in Selva. The last hour to Rueras is leisurely and offers a view of the Pontaningen castle ruins.
