Ascent to the pre-Alpine Central Switzerland

From Rapperswil, the route leisurely follows the beautiful Obersee with its reed belts and inviting country inns. In Schmerikon, the canton and direction are changed, after which the route disappears into the mysterious Buchberg forest. It's not until Lachen SZ that you're back among civilization. Here is the Côte d'Azur of Central Switzerland, complete with spirits and barbecue. With found energy, you will ascend the Etzel Pass, for which one has to climb over 500 meters in altitude. The reward is a constantly growing panorama with magnificent views all the way to the city of Zurich. On the pass, a restaurant or the chapel beckons, depending on the type of thirst. The Teufelsbrücke (Devil's Bridge), which follows immediately, can also trigger a desire for mystery. Only in Einsiedeln the imposing monastery welcomes the guest on its huge courtyard.
