Anyone wishing to experience the scariness of the Schöllenen Gorge should embark on a walk along the Schöllenen circular trail during the summer months. It is easy to walk on and will take 30 minutes at the most, walking at a leisurely pace. The vertical cliff walls and the roaring river Reuss are fascinating to look at. The Teufelsbrücke Restaurant is located directly at the bridge of the same name. During the summer, visitors will find out more about the legend associated with the crossing of the Schöllenen Gorge.

Aus allen vier Himmelsrichtungen erreicht man in den Sommermonaten (ca. Mai bis Oktober) Andermatt ohne Mühe.
Es gibt eine beschränkte Anzahl Parkplätze direkt bei der Schöllenenschlucht. Alternativ gibt es in Andermatt diverse Parkmöglichkeiten direkt in der Nähe vom Bahnhof. Dies würde den Fussweg um ca. 30 Minuten (gesamthaft für Hin- und Rückweg zum Parkplatz) bedeuten.
Andermatt ist sehr gut erschlossen mit dem Zug von der Zentralschweiz über die Schöllenen, vom Kanton Graubünden über den Oberalppass und vom Kanton Wallis durch den Furkatunnel.
