This popular hiking route takes you from Küssnacht am Rigi to the Queen of the Mountains. Take the cable car from Küssnacht to Seebodenalp. From there you hike along corridor roads and alpine pastures in the direction of the Holderen hut. A challenging climb continues over the Rütlersplangg to the Gruebi in Düssen (covered fireplace). Through the shady mountain forest up to Rigi Staffel station and on to Rigi Kulm. At the summit you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the whole of Central Switzerland and large parts of the Mittelland. The hike can also be done in the opposite direction.
Notes
The current operating status of the railways and hiking trails can be found here. So that future generations can also enjoy the Queen of the Mountains, we ask you to dispose of your waste at the stations or take it home with you. Thank you.

Take the A4 motorway to the Küssnacht am Rigi exit and follow the signs for Weggis - Vitznau.
Metered parking is available at the valley station of the Küssnacht-Seebodenalp cable car.
However, we recommend public transport instead of a car: sit back, enjoy and do something good for the environment to boot.
The hiking ticket for this hike includes the following train journeys:
- from Küssnacht to Seebodenalp with the cable car
- from Rigi Kulm to Vitznau / Weggis by cogwheel train or cable car
The timetables of the Rigi Railways can be found here.

At the end of the tour, I like to enjoy a hearty Rigi sausage at the Rigi Kulm Hotel.
