Around Andermatt are eight legendary alpine passes, all waiting to be crossed. The Gotthard Region offers fascinating alpine scenery, Swiss history, civil engineering masterpieces – and a wealth of bends!

Jump onto your road bike and accept the 106 km challenge of crossing the Furka, Nufenen and Gotthard passes. Former track cycling world and European champion, Olympic silver medal winner and six-day series winner Bruno Risi takes you with him. Experience a ride that demands stamina, yet offers a host of compensations.

Pass crossings – a long-standing tradition
The Gotthard massif – a key crossing on the ancient axis linking northern and southern Europe – is steeped in Swiss history. The alpine crossing over the Gotthard ranked amongst the most important trade routes and was, until early in the 19th century, negotiable only by simple mule path. Dating from 1830, the legendary Tremola road is a civil engineering masterpiece that continues to amaze.
